The Simple Pleasures in Life

Learning to pause and just enjoy the moment

--

Life can get so hectic and busy sometimes. We forget to pay attention to the small wins, the simple joys and the little moments that fulfill us as human beings.

Sometimes we are so focused on achieving more, being more, doing more, that we don’t ever stop to take a look at whats in front of us. We are so busy trying to get to the next thing we can never enjoy the present moment.

Today I wanted to write a little article as a reminder of some of the beautiful moments in life that we can keep for ourselves or share with the people around us.

These, to me, make life worth living.

I also just wanted to say I made a tweet about this topic, asking for ideas, so some of these have come from followers of mine! If you’d like to contribute to these articles follow me here!

A walk outside — Being in nature and getting some fresh air is so healing and freeing

The rain — The feeling when you can stay inside and just listen to the rain is so cozy and calming

Taking a shower — Taking care of yourself and your hygiene feels so refreshing I can’t describe it

Coffee in the Morning — When you’re still half asleep and you have that first cup of hot coffee in a cute mug

Journaling — Writing down your thoughts and feelings, getting that built up energy out of you and onto a page

Cuddles/Hugs — Giving and getting these from the people in our lives, or even our pets, feels like the warmest and most comforting thing in the world

Quality time with family — Just being with the people you care about, thoroughly enjoying your time, and being present

Making a yummy meal — The best thing is getting to eat that meal you’ve been craving after a long day

Planning out your days and weeks — Organization feels good. Structure and routine can help us to feel more put together and like we know what we are doing with our lives, even when we don’t

Realizing you are loved — Your family and friends love you, and that is comforting to know. Remember to show them some love back

Achieving something you’ve been working towards — Nothing feels like completing a goal you set for yourself
